Wai-yan, TANG(Ronald) earned his Ph.D. in education in 2005. Among Dr. Tang’s many research interests are relational leadership and pedagogy, dialogic hermeneutics, and discourse analysis.

Re-conceptualizing the essence of learning: The ethical versus technical aspects

Drawing on dialogical philosophy, this paper argues that many of the initiatives including the language policy at present being launched in Hong Kong have employed a technical approach, which tends to isolate learning as a manageable activity in which relationships affecting the learner is generally ignored.
